The energy in a deciduous forest begins in the producers from the environment (plants) which got their energy from the sun through a process called photsynthesis. The herbivores, such as deer, rodent, or insects, and omnivores, such as birds or bears, then eat the plants which gives them 10% of the energy stored in the plant they ate. The carnivores (fox, owl, or cougar) then eat the herbivores and omnivores (excluding the bear). When any one of these plants or animals die then a decomposer comes and, as the name suggests, decomposes the plant or animal. the decomposers then recycle the nutrients so that they can be used again.
If any one of these organisms were to go extint then the food chain would be disturbed. For example, if all of the plants went away then the rodent would have nothing to eat. this would cause the population of both the owl and the fox to decrease due to lack of food. With an extinction an ecosytsem could change drasticly. If all of the honeybees were to just go away then there would be nothing left to pollinate the plants and without pollination plants can't survive.
Population growth occurs when the birth rate is higher than the death rate. A sufficient living space along with food, water, and transportation can be attributed to the birth rate being higher than the death rate in the world.
Humans are unfortunatly largly affecting the deciduous factors in a negative way. when the human population grows we tend to expand where we live so that we have more space and to do this we cut down many deciduous forests. This process is called deforestation. Defroestation takes away the habitats for many animals and forces them to either migrate out of that area or stay in that area and die.
